Hyatt Place Chicago/Schaumburg

The staff were exceptional and really made our stay better than expected. Me and my child were there two nights for an event at the convention center (5-minute drive). The room was clean, pool was big, common areas were pleasant, and breakfast was excellent (really appreciated the freshly-cooked-and-served eggs, tortillas, and french toast). The hotel had everything we need including some toiletries we forgot; very much appreciated and saved me a trip to the pharmacy. They made my kid an off-menu grilled cheese for dinner, and it and the fries were very tasty. The bar is small but more than functional. We also appreciated that you can cast to the TV from apps on your phone (not all hotels have this). This hotel is an excellent value! The only negative was the vrooming engine noise from cars and the highway, which can be quite loud at night, but I assume this is true for every hotel in this area, unfortunately.

Well appointed, clean rooms that look pretty new. They definitely had been refurbished more recently than the Hyatt next door. The finishes and fixtures are a little bit more basic. They have a really nice continental breakfast that's included. The scrambled eggs were really good. And there's fresh fruit and yogurt, waffles pancakes, cereal.

First off, I would like to say how friendly and helpful the staff was during our stay over the weekend. The general manager, Issac, was very accommodating and attended to all of our teams needs despite there being multiple soccer teams staying at the hotel. I have stayed in multiple hotels over the years for various soccer tournaments across the country, and I have to say, this was by far the most enjoyable stay I have experienced. The cleanliness of the rooms and entire hotel was outstanding. The continental breakfast had a lot to choose from so there was something for everyone (even the picky eaters). Overall, we had an amazing stay and would definitely return to the Hyatt Place Chicago/Schaumburg location for another stay in the future :)

Excellent, and I mean EXCELLENT hotel. The location is super convenient and easy to find without having to fight a ton of traffic. Check in was super easy, no issues there. The front desk guy Amir was super helpful and friendly, as were all of the staff. The room was spotless and extremely clean. It had plenty of space. The hotel was quiet. The room had a big couch and a very comfortable bed. The bed was not too soft, so you didn’t sink into the bed, and instead had plenty of support which in my mind is critical. The room also had a little coffee machine and a working fridge which is great because you can keep your drinks cold. The free breakfast the next morning was TOP NOTCH. There were plenty of seats available. The coffee was hot and fresh. The food and the selection of food was excellent. This WAS NOT a breakfast that had a few stale bagels thrown out on the counter so they could claim “breakfast” on the website. Instead it was an EXCELLENT breakfast with hot sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, potatoes, and a great selection of cereal and yogurt. Seriously, this place absolutely NAILED IT on the breakfast aspect. Also, there is a great grassy area outside if you are traveling with a pet and it has poop bags and a little trash can. So in conclusion, the room is great, the staff are friendly, the breakfast is DELICIOUS and the location is perfect, especially if coming from the airport. Definitely check this place out.

The photos advertising the hotel are amazing! The rooms looked spacious enough without being too large, the pool area clean and relaxing, and the outside absolutely bright and welcoming. Arriving there the outside was bland, the pond overgrown. We checked in, no problem. The host wasn't super welcoming but also not rude. The room was small, but doable. The bathroom was gross. There was water damage in the ceiling (still wet) and it smelled. The beds were ok, I still prefer my own though. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable with bars having little to no padding. The beds had ripped sheets on them (not terrible but the edges were ripped). Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about though. The pool though. Wow. It was a dingy greenhouse essentially and there was hair and garbage on the floor by the chairs. Very dark and not a relaxing area. I will definitely pick another hotel my next stay in the area.

Did an extensive search to find what I thought would be a great hotel for night's getaway during the holidays. Specifically chose the Hyatt Place Chicago in Schaumburg for its central location & based on room photos. Rooms are depicted as separated areas, which I thought would be great so that early risers would not be disturbing others still sleeping. Also noted was "private bathroom." Discovered online photos & description were very misleading. "Private bathroom," REALLY??? You literally lay in bed & stare at the sink vanity area about 5 steps away because it is an OPEN doorway that is basically at the end of the bed. "PRIVATE " is a door to the toilet & shower off to 1 side. Toilet/shower room area is quite small. In addition to a less than clean room, the window view is a tar rooftop with parking lots beyond that. Hyatt is Not luxury. Not romantic. Not great views. Great for the business traveling or someone focused on shopping. Update- requested to be moved to another room bc 1st was right next to elevator & every elevator noise & conversation could be heard. Location of 2nd room was much better & quiet. However, cleanliness is not a priority here. The cover on the bed had a large, noticeable stain right at the top near pillows. Drinking glasses has smudges / finger marks. Gross. Truly disappointing hotel. 1st & last time staying here.
